Application

Enamel Rust is intended for the metal surface coating to transform the rust, slowing and stopping corrosion processes, preventing their development over the life of the coating.

ADVANTAGES

Enamel Rust is unique as it should be applied without the usage of rust and prime separately and it should be directly applied on the surface, thus turning rust and protect the metal from corrosion.

Surface preparation

  • Rust surface: clean the rust and old peeling paint with the wire brush, then degrease it with solvent № 647, xylene or oil solvent.
  • New (smooth) metallic surface: for better adhesion, matt it with a sanding or wire brush then degrease it with solvent № 647, xylene or oil solvent.
  • Matt old painted surface with the sanding paper and degrease it with solvent № 647, xylene or oil solvent.

Enamel preparation

Before enamel application, it should be stirred and if it is necessary to dilute it in the following ways:

  • in summer or in hot weather Enamel Rust is recommended to dilute with oil solvent to improve its spreading by using paint-spray gun to working viscosity 25-30 s (solvent of 15-20%, depending on the initial viscosity of the enamel) and to filter it.
  • in winter Enamel Rust is diluted with solvent № 647 or xylene to working viscosity (solvent of 15-20%, depending on the initial viscosity of the enamel) and then it should be filtered.

 Application methods - Методи нанесення

Enamel Rust should be applied to the prepared surface with a brush or a roller in 2 layers, with a paint-spray gun in 3-4 layers with nozzle diameter of 1.4-1.5 mm under pressure of 3-4 bar. Coating thickness shouldn’t be less than 100 microns. The optimal temperature regime of applying is from 5 ° C to 25 °C with a maximum humidity of 85%. The drying time of the layer of Enamel Rust at (20 ± 2) °C is not more than 18 hours. The drying time increases if the temperature falls. The interval of layers drying is from 1 to 3 hours. The second layer is applied at this period of time. After 3 hours the polymerization process begins.

The temperature regime of the exploitation of Enamel Rust coating ranges from -30 °C to + 50 °C.

Guarantee storage life
